Meet Scorpion
The following details apply here. Scorpion on hxsp123.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. The tableau has seven columns. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game.
The initial seven columns
The following details apply here. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.
Check rank and suit together
A few details help explain this feature. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.
Order within a group may vary
Keep these points in mind. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it.
The empty-column rule
A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.
Uncover another choice
Here are the details for this mode. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal.
Use the stock once
Keep these points in mind. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.
Complete a suit
A few details help explain this feature. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit.
Plan around blocked cards
Here are the details for this mode. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked.
